Nothing Much Going On

The last few weeks has been a flurry of nothing much. Weather wise we went from winter to summer almost over night.

Gear and dog sleds are packed away. Materials are being purchased for construction of a new dog sled. Rhonda entered a 4 mile road race and has been taking fly tying classes. Weston's college buddy Patrick Ard, operates a fly fishing guide service. We look forward to obtaining instruction from him this summer on how to cast a rod! Rhonda also signed up for a sewing machine lesson. Time to dust off that machine! For starters, she plans to make some dog coats.

We are testing out a new dog food. If you ever felt a desire to sponsor us, that is a pretty inexpensive means to do so. Depending on what we happen to be feeding at the time, food runs $27-$42 per bag.

We invited a friend and his daughter to camp and ended up having to train dogs with ATV's. Good thing we brought it along with us! They left on Sunday with Curly. When Sage was walking around the dog lot, Curly jumped up and down and showered her with attention. When she and her father were ready to leave, Bob went over to Curly and prepared to attach a leash. Curly climbed on Bob's lap, gave him a kiss, rubbed his head in Bob's chest and then stood up.. ready to parade himself over to the truck and his new owners. The scene was a tear jerker.

Without Curly in the yard, a dog house spot opened up. Good thing because the spot where Cosmo had been living is at risk of a tree falling on it. Bob's still cleaning brush from the February storm, including dialog with our neighbors about how to safely take that particular tree down (among others). The neighbor to our west used to work on the pipeline in Alaska and is quite a cool guy (and loves our dogs). Looks like he's going to loan us his excavator for an afternoon.

Excited for Yard Sale season to open so that we can purge ourselves of the items carried over from last year...and anything else we can bare to part with. Need to schedule a painting weekend up at the Dawg House. The trim is starting to flake and could use a fresh coat of off-white. Maybe we'll even paint the front door a bright color.. like terracotta!
